Lake in the Alps
Lake in the Alps is a personal project that I realised during my free time. The idea came after a hike in the Bavarian Alps, back in 2023. Since most of the projects I realised until now are about architecture, I also wanted to explore new workflows and tools and do something more organic.

Breakdown

References
I found the main references on @visitbayern's Instagram Account, which reposts subscribers' photographs. I also gathered photos that depicted the researched look & feel of the autumn as lighting references. Furthermore, to be more precise, I used the iNaturalist.org website, which is an accurate database of the biotops in almost every place around the globe.

Modelling tools
GAEA
I enjoyed playing with the different nodes that Gaea offers. This tool is incredibly powerful and allows you to quickly create good results. In that case, the main focus was the mountain, so I spent a little more time testing the options to get the result I had in mind.

BLENDER
This project allowed me to mix several techniques.
For example, in addition to the main mountain assets created in Gaea, I used the A.N.T. Landscape add-on to model the other terrain pieces such as the hills, the shores and the island. The vegetation and scattering were done with Botaniq and Graswald GScatter.
